As global supply chains restructure and regional trade grows, Central and Southeastern Europe are becoming key logistics nodes. Recently, JUSDA Europe officially opened a modern strategic logistics distribution center in Zrenjanin, Serbia. This marks JUSDA’s first expansion into the Balkan region and strengthens Serbia’s position as an emerging logistics hub in Europe.
The opening ceremony welcomed prominent figures from the political and business spheres, including H.E. Jan Bondy, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Serbia; Igor Popović, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (PKS); Simo Salapura, Mayor of Zrenjanin; and Petr Škoda, Managing Director of JUSDA Europe. Their presence highlighted the center’s importance in facilitating regional trade and economic cooperation.

Modernizing Operations: From Traditional Manufacturing to Digital Logistics
Operated by JUSDA SEE, the new center represents the region’s industrial transformation. By repurposing an existing industrial space, JUSDA created a modern logistics facility covering over 11,000 square meters. The site is expected to expand to 15,000 square meters and create approximately 150 local jobs.
Moving beyond traditional warehousing, the center utilizes a highly digitalized management system. These advanced platforms provide real-time tracking and process transparency. Operations cover intralogistics, import and export multimodal transport (sea, land, air, and rail), and final distribution for domestic and international markets.
Petr Škoda, Managing Director of JUSDA Europe, clarified the strategic thinking behind this move: “Until now, we have not operated in the Balkan region. As pioneers, we chose Serbia precisely because of its favorable geographical location, solid industrial base, and continuously improving infrastructure.”
Building Synergies: Regional Partnerships and Investment
The logistics center also highlights the benefits of foreign direct investment in Serbia. JUSDA’s first major local partner is the renowned FMCG company Beohemija, a successful Czech investment in Serbia known for brands like Duel and Spin.
Ambassador Jan Bondy noted that such investments are concrete examples of connecting European and Asian partners. With bilateral trade between Serbia and the Czech Republic exceeding €1.5 billion annually, JUSDA’s high-standard logistics system will directly benefit international businesses operating in Serbia and improve the regional business environment.

Boosting the Local Economy in Zrenjanin
For Zrenjanin, this project is a key part of the city’s industrial development. Mayor Simo Salapura stated: “The business environment is constantly changing—some companies leave, while new ones arrive and create new opportunities. The arrival of multinational companies proves that Zrenjanin is a reliable location for long-term business.”
This growth aligns with local infrastructure improvements, including the upcoming Belgrade-Zrenjanin highway project. Better connectivity is unlocking the potential of the city’s “Jugoistok” (Southeast) industrial zone. Zrenjanin is currently negotiating new projects for the zone, including a 70-hectare expansion plan by the tire manufacturer Linglong.
Looking Ahead
JUSDA Europe has made it clear that the Zrenjanin center is just the beginning of its expansion in the CEE market. The company plans to continue growing its integrated logistics network in the region, focusing on process automation, digitalization, and local talent development.
The successful launch of the center has attracted significant attention from national and regional media, including Tanjug, Biznews, RTV Santos Zrenjanin, and Vajdasági RTV. This widespread coverage reflects the strong local interest in high-quality investments that create jobs and support the real economy.
As global supply chains continue to evolve, Serbia is accelerating its transformation into a key regional hub. The official operation of the JUSDA Zrenjanin center is a major step forward in this journey.
